He has a strong background in both residential and commercial projects, developed through years of hands-on work and leadership roles. Thad’s deep industry knowledge and commitment to quality ensure that every project he oversees is completed to the highest standards. Since joining Novus Construction in 2022, he has been an integral part of the team, driving successful project outcomes.
My Story
Thad Cockburn is a seasoned Superintendent at Novus Construction, bringing over three decades of diverse experience in the construction industry. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Thad developed a passion for construction early on, working with his father’s business throughout his youth. After graduating from Evergreen High School, he pursued an associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Denver Tech College, while also gaining valuable hands-on experience at Hugh M. Woods.
Thad’s career is marked by his work with Colorado Log Homes, where he began peeling logs and quickly advanced to helping run a log mill. He later returned to custom home building with his father’s company, progressing from a framer to a lead man onsite, and eventually becoming an outside manager and lead custom home developer. Despite the challenges of the 2007 economic downturn, Thad continued to thrive in the industry, founding his own business, Imagine Construction, which he successfully ran for 15 years.
In 2022, Thad joined Novus Construction, where he leverages his extensive knowledge and experience to oversee projects with precision and dedication. Outside of work, Thad enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and fishing. He is the proud father of two sons, Zachery and Gavin.
